Can someone link me to an in depth layout for an O scale that I can fit on a 4’x8’ table? I’n looking at the Penn Flyer by Lionel for our (my 6yo) first train. I looked at a couple websites that recommended “double reverse loops” I think? I understand the concept but I have no idea on how to construct one. I need the railroad layouts for dummies guide here. I know I don’t want a basoc oval.
Anyone ever run their trains from a table top up around the top of the room? I was thinking that we could play with it on the table then switch it to climb to the top of the room and circle the room over head along the wall. However, at a 2% grade I’d need 169 feet to make the ascent.
xray, about the table top 2 the top of the room i would consider making it go from a flat table top to about halfway from there 2 the top of the wall and run around the room and then come downat the other side of the table. Tim
Don’t have the answer, and I’m not shooing you away, but you’ll get better response on the Classic Toy Trains “O” gauge forum on this same website. BTW I’ve had several pennsy flyers, they are good basic runners. Dave
You might find this helpful.

Thor is actually a member here, and occasionally posts over on the CTT forum that Dave mentioned.
THANKS big-boy. I stumbled upon that web site some time ago and been trying to find it again. Ken
Gee Ken, you weren’t even the one asking the question.[swg] Glad to help.
I actually thought I had it marked as one of my favorites in my browser, but I couldn’t find it there (I have a lot of favorites). Then it struck me, go to Thor’s profile. Bingo. I’ll mark it now.[;)]
