Looking for a book title

It’s out of print by John Armstrong.

It’s a book about Railroad Operations but it is not Track Planning.

Anyone know the book?

If I got the link correctly…

Hopefully that is it. A local library may have it, too. Good book!

Just to follow on a similar question, does anyone remember a kalmbach book that featured a Santa Fe layout being built By Andy Sperandeo. I lent my copy to someone a few years back and they lost it! Can’t remember the title and SPV in the uk don’t have one so I’m not sure if it’s still in print.

I think that’s 6 HO Layouts You Can Build/ From Model Railroader Magazine ISBN 0890241899

The layout is the Washita & Santa Fe in Oklahoma, IIRC. Don’t know if it’s still in print, but my local library has it. You can usually find these books through Amazon.

If you’re looking for “The Railroad What It Is, What It Does”
by John H. Armstrong

If you go to the magazine index on this site click on books on the left, scroll down to authors, and click on John Armstrong for a list of his books. The above is excellent - I have the first edition in hardcover.

Enjoy

Thanks Guys. This is what Interlibrary Loan is for.

Or “I-L-LS” I we call them in the library business. If your local library doesn’t carry what you’re looking for, always ask if they can get it for you from another. I’ve seen some really neat books come through ours that way-some I never knew existed, & ended up requesting myself! [;)]

That’s it! Thankyou for that I’ll search for it.

Try here: http://www.amazon.com/Railroads-You-Can-Build-Railroader/dp/0890241899

Don’t know if you can order from them in England, but worth a try.

Try abebooks.com. It covers thousands of used bookstores. I found the 6 HO Layouts book for $1.53 and up, plus shipping. I have found a bunch of stuff there.
