I’v been looking for a Lehigh Valley steamer, but havent found anything
in my price range. I’m thinking about buying a off road name and
redoing it for Lehigh. So far I’m looking at a pacific K-LINE from
just trains that has rail sounds and smoke (I think it was a brake up set)
or a 2-8-0 Rail-King with proto-2 sound. I dont run any command yet, Havent
desided if I want to yet…I know the K-LINE will be hard to get parts for
if it brakes, but I like the look of the K-line better (side rods)
So whats your thoughts???
Check out Ma&Pa Junction. I got the sale e-mail from Marty yesterday. He has the Williams Scale Hudson in Lehigh Valley listed as a sale item for $325. Williams is discontinuing the Scale Hudsons in all of the non-prototypical road names, so if this is of interest to you, this could be your last chance to get this loco. I have the this loco( mines U.P.) and it is very nice and runs great. A little on the plain side, but for the money you can’t beat it in my opinion.
c-burke9,
That is a problem for a lot of the smaller NE roads. LV, CNJ & Lackawanna all have quite a few diesels available but the steamers are few and far between. Most that have been produced are far from prototypical. I guess the reason is the same diesels were used by many roads but these three were very individualistic in buying/building steamers so they are oddballs. [:(]
