I’m looking for a pink HO car that I believe is a 3-bay covered hopper. I’ve seen it before but didn’t look close enough to recall the road name. Can anyone please provide any clues so when I’m scanning the dealer tables at the next train show I can spot it?
I’ve seen the pink covered hoppers. They are owned by a private grain shipper which may have 'Iowa" in its name. Either that or the shipper is located in Iowa. (assumes my memory is correct.)
Model Die Casting did one in a paint scheme for a grain elevator out in Iowa or Nebraska, can’t remember which. Looked it up in an old Walthers catalog and found the following: Klemme Co-op; and Farnhamville, Iowa.
These were first produced by Model Diecasting/Roundhouse, now part of Athearn. They came out with multiple sets of four, each with different numbers lettered for different Iowa and Nebraska grain elevators. I have some of these sets but not the pink ones. You will find these frequently listed on ebay.
