looking for an Nscale layout design

As my title emplies I’m looking for an Nscale layout design.

I have a 12x12 room that I plan on building a model railroad based on the Norfolk & Western railroad. I want a “round the wall” type (atleast thats what i prefer).

I’ve had a hardf time drawing my own track plan and would like to know if anyone knows of such a plan on the internet since my research has yeilded very little.

Thanks

If you haven’t done so already, consider looking at Linn Wescott’s 101 Track Plans for Model Railroaders.

I’ve also come to realize that the net can be fairly dry when it comes to looking for track plans.

There have been a number of plans published in Model Railroader and Model Railroad Planning magazines for the “MRP” bedroom, which is about 12X12 feet. There have been a variety of scales used. In the 1996 issue, there are two that might be especially helpful, Allen McClelland’s HO coal country layout (which could easily be re-done as a very nice N scale plan) and Mike Danneman’s Rocky Mountain Rio Grande N scale plan.

In my experience, most of the plans in the 101 Track Plans book are pretty dated and I couldn’t recommend very many of them in good conscience.

There were also N scale plans of roughly that size in the March and April 2006 issues of Model Railroader magazine.

Good luck,

Byron

Thanks for the advice on the books, but when it comes to the model railroader magizines the earliest issue i have is around 2000 and i’m not subcribes to the other one. Thanks anyway though

If you could possibly find a picture of one or post a scan of one I would really appreciate it.

You can buy copies of back issues or copies of articles from Kalmbach, which also publishes Model Railroad Planning.
