Looking for Athearn Genesis F7 (Santa Fe)

I posted a question like this a while ago and for some reason couldn’t find it by searching…so sorry for what is essentially a double post. I wanted to update the other post to mention I found one half of the ABBA.

I have been looking all over for an Athearn Genesis F7 ABBA set in Santa Fe’s freight scheme. I recently found one half of the ABBA (ATHG-1524 road numbers 217L and 217A). So now I need the set ATHG-1624 (road numbers, 217C and 217B). I would love to complete the ABBA set for my dad as his Christmas present.

The set looks like this:

I’ve looked everywhere locally as well as on the internet for this set. eBay has unfortunately been a big strike out thus far.

Hopefully someone out there knows where a set could be found. Maybe your local hobby shop still has a set collecting dust. Maybe you saw one at a train show. Maybe someone in your club has a set and no longer uses them. Or maybe you have one.

Any leads are greatly appreciated.

By the way, these locos are great with SoundTraxx Tsunami. Expensive to convert them, but what an improvement.

Hi!

I just went through the same scenario - only it was the BLI F7 DCC sound/power AB (or LA) set. I had the sister set, and couldn’t find the other.

I posted on this Forum for help, and got directed to Nicholas Smith Trains, which had one - only when I got it I found it was no good. I am an Ebay regular but nothing was on there, although the first set I got came from there.

I too did internet searches, and eventually did a Google, playing with the key words (i.e. BLI, or Broadway, or F7 or ATSF or SF or Santa - you get the picture). Well, that paid off and I got the second set from CCHobbies in Wyoming, and it now sits with the other two, making an LABC set with all units powered and with sound.

So don’t give up, and play the word search game on Google (or whatever) and it may pay off.

Pacific Western Rail Systems says call for availability. They have a toll free number so might as well give it a try. Click here and then arrow down: http://www.pacific-western-rail.com/ho_in_stock_locomotives.php?Page=5&PrimarySort=SKU&PWRSManufacturers_ID=141
