Looking for California "open to public" Garden Railways

My brother is really interested in touring some of Southern California’s garden railways. One recent issue of GR I looked at I think had a list of garden railroads you could visit.

I know that during conventions there are visits, but if someone knows of a listing of railways (on the internet, etc.) you can visit by appointment that would be great.

Thomas, you can check out our online list here:

There are layouts in all scales open to the public here:

Fairplex in Pomona and Living Desert in Indio are perhaps the the most “open” on a regular basis, check with them prior to find out their hours of operation.

Rene:

You might want to edit you page with the URL for Andersons Nursery.

With advance notice you can bring your own trains to run on their layout. (open tracks Wed~Fri)

Even i know about this layout all the way over here in australia. As I remeber it, it is pretty big also pretty dated. But i think i heard of a mdernisation.

Rgds ian

Fairplex for sure.

Thanks gang! We may be off to Indio and Pomona for sure!!!
