Am redoing an HO locomotive - have shells but am looking for an Athearn DD 40 frame and trucks. To my knowledge, that frame is not being made anymore. Does someone have any suggestions as to where I might purchase one - or even a couple? I can be contacted at pbritton@rapidnet.com.

Try posting this on one of the MODELING forums. This is the PROTOTYPE INFORMATION forum. A lot of the guys who can help you probably don’t visit this forum as often as the modeling forums (General and Layout Building forums).
I was at Hawkin’s Rail Service in Lafayette, Indiana this afternoon. Jack has at least 4 frames and I don’t know how many power trucks for the DD40. The trucks do not have the worm gear or housing included, but I would bet Jack has them in stock too! Good luck.
There are 4 complete DD40’s on Ebay now, most around $20.
