Looking for HO part

Anyone have any ideas where I can obtain the following part???

I model several Canadian diesels, specifiocally CN, CP, ONR and VIA FP-7a units. I am in need of the roof mounted frame with bell assembly used on these diesels. None of the American detail part manufacturers have such a thing available

Does anyone know if some other manufacturer has this Canadian part in their product line, and if so from whom can I obtain a number of them???

Thank you

You might try http://www.miniaturesbyeric.com/index.htm He specializes in Candian detail parts. Several of the roof mount bells are right on the first H0 parts page.

Note: I have been buying parts from him close to 20 years and there have been periods where shipping and email responses have been a bit slow, but I have always gotten what I ordered . The castings are mostly brass and some are resin and the quality ranges from very good to excellent.

RailFlyer Prototypes also has a multilayer PE frame with a plastic bolt plate & a very nice machined brass bell that can be built in almost any configuration. Google them & check out their other pix of parts. If you want scale accuracy give them a serious look. I have also used many from Walthers (including the above), but the RailFlyer version is the nicest looking.

Assuming HO of course,

Depending on your railway, you can use this for CN/VIA: http://www.miniaturesbyeric.com/itm00026.htm

or this for ONR:http://www.miniaturesbyeric.com/itm00030.htm

CP’s FP7/9’s did not have roof mounted bells.

Thanks for all your help…been too busy with the job to get off a reply…

but Miniatures by Eric has exqactly what I need for the F units.

The CP units had ice breakers…mixed them for bell brackets…eyesight…time to change to Garden Scale…

Icicle breakers are easy to make using Detail Associates brass strip and wire:

Bend the strips to the proper shape and solder them together where required. Bend mounting tabs at the base of each piece, drill appropriately and solder a short length of wire in each hole. Trim the top of the wire to represent a bolt head, and insert the lower portions into holes drilled in suitable locations in the loco’s roof. These can be bent-over inside the shell, then ca’ed in place.
