Looking for HO Santa Fe items

I am starting my new layout soon and i was just looking around for Santa Fe items, so i thought i would ask here. I need equipment that is around the 1940 time period. Reefers, box cars, E1’s passenger cars, etc. They can be plastic or brass, doesn’t really matter. I am looking for some steamers.

Thanks in advance!

Ebay and most of the large LHS have many Santa Fe Steamers if you are into HO. BLI has made the 2-10-2 and the 3751 class 4-8-4 and the Northern will be back soon as a new Blue Line product. The older PFM models are available at many large brass ships and are very good buys. I picked up one of the older PFM 2-10-4’s and a 4-8-4 model last month both at rock bottom prices.

Check out Caboose Hobbies or The Caboose list for a great selection of SF steam. The E 1 is not so easy, but if you continue looking, you might find one. The 1 and 1A set is available at some of the large brass shops.

I don’t recommend complete brass passenger sets since it has taken me almost ten years to find and purchase the three complete Santa Fe passenger trains that I have.

Good luck on the E1’s. If you move the era up to 1946 or so, you could save a lot of money on motive power.

For freight cars Athern - they have recently released a full line of SF reefers - they have a full spectrum of pretty good freight cars at very reasonable prices. Passenger cars are probably a good bet with Walthers. Steamers - BLI, Proto2000, and Bachmann Spectrum are all pretty good. For passenger trains ya can’t ignore the F3 or whatever Warbonnets!! [:D]

Is that so? Then it is goign to take me forever to find the San Diagan passenger set. As for E1’s i’ll just have to look really hard. I need E1’s

Santa Fe is probably the most popular road name in model railroading out there… Everyone from eBay to Hobby Lobby carries some sort of Santa Fe item. I’m also a Santa Fe fan, and own a 2-8-0 Consolidation, a 4-6-2 Pacific and an E-8 A & B set along with a complete set of passenger cars and all types of rolling stock. Sometimes I’ll get in a mood where I’ll clear the tracks of all the other trains and build a small train using the 2-8-0, about eight or so cars and a caboose, then dress the layout up with Santa Fe MoW equipment and so forth and just sit and watch the train go around the layout. I don’t really do that with any other loco I own.

Tracklayer

Well i found some E1’s, a brass a&b set by key west. It says pre order and doesn’t have a picture. I don’t know where they are ordering from, but i wanted to see a picture, does anyone know where i can see a picture of a key west E1?

Here’s your E1s… http://www.thecoachyard.com/Pages/Catalog.lasso . The Coach Yard is also releasing a “San Diegan”. Go to their home page and click on the drumhead.
