Old people in power wheelchairs aren’t very welcome around trains n tracks, but I’d like to get some info on MARC rolling stock and the chop-top diesel that sits around the metro yards.
Any links would be welcomed!!
They have 50 Kaswiclk passenger Cars and several more they that I don’t know of.

Amtrak operates this service, much like CT’s Shore Line East and Boston’s MBTA.
Their roster includes the relatively new HHP-8’s as well!

MARC have one of the most interesting rosters, and they’ve had really interesting units over the last few years.
Their main power is a group of rebuilt GP40s in two types.
The older units retain the GP40 body but were rebuilt as GP39-2s with twelve cylinder engines rather than the original sixteen cylinder units, and the space was used to put in a separate head end power unit to provide train lighting and a/c (HEP) power. I think these are called RP39-2s.
The newer units are “stretched” GP 40s (with a plug added to the frame). They have wide nose cabs from F45s (although some cabs were new) and radiators similar to SD45s.
They also have electric locomotives similar to Amtrak, three AEM-7s and some new HHP-8s not yet in service.
The did have four rebuilt F units and an F unit rebuilt as a cab car with HEP equipment, and at one time, two E units painted overall blue.
The METRO unit is a special built by (I think) Republic Locomotive. It is desined to fit in the tunnels, hence the low height.
