Im currently in the process of converting an ho proto 2000 E7 from its ‘as delivered’ appearence, to the mid 70’s look on the Rock Island. RI plugged the windows and installed louvered vents all along the carbody… I am struggling to find the appopriate detail part for this application. Can anyone assistme in my quest? Heres a link to the prototype, to give you an idea of what i’m talking about.
The only thing I can find is the “A-unit detail parts” pack from Highliners, Walthers part# 328-3001. You’d need two sets of them, looking at that picture, and you’d have to do quite a bit of cutting and splicing to get them into that arrangement.

You could possibly cut them from an old Bachmann F9 shell, and sand as much material from the back as you can to thin them down.
