Hello everyone, I’m new to the area (military move) and was looking for some fellow model railroaders. I have a 24x16ft HO layout that would be fun to operate with others.
It appears that there is a model railroad club located in Dover, called the First State Model Railroad Club: http://fsmrrc.org/ That might be a place to start if you want to meet people. There are also two clubs north of you up Wilmington way, and another south of you in Delmar. Those look to be about an hour 10 minutes away from you. I belong to the Delmar MRR Club. We have HO, N, and O gauge layouts. An hour sounds like a long way to go, but I come up from VA which is also an hour away. We meet every Wednesday and someone is usually there starting at 2PM most of the time. There is a doorbell to the left of the Red door up high if the door is locked. We are on the second floor. Hi Snow: Perhaps you could plan to visit the First State Model Railroad Club’s open house activities at their clubhouse on Thursday evening, May 2nd from 7 to 9 PM or from 11 AM to 4 PM on Saturday May 4th or Sunday, May 5th, coinciding with the annual Dover Days festivities. We’re located at 1282 McKee Rd, Dover. Look for a white warehouse type building. If you need directions call 678 0283 and ask for JIM.
