Looking for Model Railroaders in Vaudreuil-Dorion (Quebec) or Surrounding!

Hello,

I am looking for Model Railroaders in the Greater Montreal region and more specifically the West-Island and Vaudreuil-Dorion areas with interests in but not limited to European Railways who would be keen on assisting me with work on an HO 16’X8’ modular layout. Please contact me directly if you are interested.

I am also the Chapter leader for the ETE (European Train Enthusiasts) Fleur-De-Lys Chapter, for those who may also be interested in joining our small informal group. http://www.geocities.com/etecanada/fleur-de-lys/

Regards,

Stephan

Stephan,

Unfortunately, I am not in the Montreal area – I live in Chateau-Richer, about 20 minutes northeast of Quebec City. However, don’t lose hope. Just because the first person to reply to your post is not near you, doesn’t mean there are none. Indeed, I know there are some members of these forums who live in or near Montreal; I just can’t recall their names for the moment. I am certain they will see your post and reply.

Until you posted, I had never heard of the ETE. I had only heard of the BRMNA (British Railway Modellers of North America) who co-host a model train show in Ottawa (Ontario) the third weekend of October.

You should post some photos of your layout even if it is under construction.

Hi Timothy,

Thanks for your response and words of encouragement.

In fact the ETE has been around since 1973 and holds chapters across the and with the head chapter being in . We are one of only two chapter serving .

As for my personal Layout, those interested in viewing my construction efforts can visit my Website.

Stephan,

I took a quick look at your layout. Very nice ! [:)] I wish my layout looked as good. It’s still in the very early stages of construction with less than 200" of N-scale code 55 flex track and 2 turn outs (as a cross-over) laid so far.

You mention on your web site that you would never again use foam risers (do you mean the “inclines” (for grades), or the “risers” (for elevated level track) ? ). I’d like to know why. What problems did you encounter with them ?
