Several years ago MR ran what I think was a 2 part article on kitbashing a large chemical plant complex in HO using, among other kits, Walther’s New River Mining.
Can any one tell me what issue(s) this ran? It will save from going through my collection of back issues one at a time.
Sound like it, thanks. Now I’ll be able to go right to it when I get home tonight instead of searching back through 15 years of back issues. Didn’t think it was that long ago though.
That must have been one of Art Curren’s last projects. His Kalmbach book on kitbashing is worth seeking out even though some of the kits he most liked to use are not currently available with the demise of IHC and AHM. But Like Like still offers Mt Vernon Mfg!
I loved his articles, and was able to pick up his book on eBay a few months ago. Besides Mt Vernon, the Hotel Belvedere is still available, and it isn’t hard to find some version of the Burlington Mills, both favorites of his. I have been collecting and stockpiling all three kits for years now. I was bored the other day, pulled out all the Mt Vernon kits, and started bashing a warehouse Art would be proud of.
Very nice work Don, very nice. Now to truly honor Art Curren we need to find an outrageous and groan-inducing pun name for the business. Gentlemen, fire away [I]
