Just switched to N scale from HO, and plan to model several 1970s-1980’s BN coal trains. Need N scale coal hoppers, preferably in BN paint, and lots of them. I could buy them one at a time from Atlas and redecal the numbers, but does anyone make them in 6 or 12 car sets in N scale in BN scheme?

Kato has sets of 8 hoppers listed on their website. They have a set of BN in the Green and Silver scheme. They come in sets of 8 with different car numbers. www.katousa.com. under the North American Freight heading in the left window of their site. hope this helps.
Thanks. I saw them, and think I might get them. I also am looking for (mainly) the plain old generic black hoppers with the white BN lettering. I guess they would be 100 ton, 4 bay hoppers. Any other ideas guys?
Atlas has 90-ton 3-bay hoppers available in BN’s black and white. MSRP is about $8.00 (US). I have a few of these, and they’re good cars.

I have the same issue with my N&W coal train. The Atlas 90 ton hopper is the most reasonable choice, but they are hard to find in any quantities. MT makes the same style but is harder to find and pricier. But now Athearn comes on the scene with another option – and I see they have BN too:
