Either that or he went driving it and it did the most typical thing a power smoke does and it broke down in the middle of nowhere(been there done that) Got rescued by a real truck. Dodge Cummins!

What stranded ya? One thing that does stop the powerstroke dead is a dinky part called a CPS (Camshaft Position Sensor). I carry a spare and takes ten minutes to swap.
Don’t get me wrong, i love the Cummins ISB and would even take it over the PSD in a Ford, but i prefer a truck that doesnt fall apart around you.

Ricer huh? I think there is one of them on the front of the diesel. Never got around to poppin it off. heheheehe The top three are “mine” and the bottom three are “dads” but we just use whatever and pay for each other on an as needed basis. Did you check out the new mustangs? I drove a v6 fivespeed and was actually impressed, but im still on a waiting list to testdrive a GT.

Its got just over 91000 on it though. Gonna need to trade her in in a couple years. Im goin with the dodge whne that time comes. So much more simple to work on. You can actually get your hands in the engine compartment without having to go through all the electrical crap.
It was that sensor that stopped us dead i nour tracks in 6 inches of snow on top of a mountian 10 miles from the main road in a blizzard. Hunting saeson sucks when this happens, especially if you are trying to get the 30 miles back to camp at dusk. Oh did I mention it was almost 5 below without windchill? If ya want the full story, ask me i will have to spend a while typing it out.

SWEEEET!!! I am hoping to get behind the wheel of a hemi sometime soon. Remember, Dodge, Eating Chevys crapping Ford [:)] My grandpa bought a brand new dodge 1500 pickup truck in 1988 and it is still running strong (still trying to convince him to get a Hemi Ram though)
I would take a Magnum or even a Neon SRT4 over my jetta any day. but $3500 only buys you so much automobile these days[8D]

My opinion on trucks in general:
Have been a Ford man since infancy. Currently have an Excursion with early 6.0, which will shortly get some “work” done to it.
Nobody in their right mind would have a Chevy truck when GMCs are available ;-}
Keep in mind, half-tons are just glorified automobiles. It’s the 2500s and up, preferably in the K, not C series, where the interesting action is. Duramax is a good engine, but I still feel a bit like a Christian Scientist with appendicitis contemplating aluminum cylinder heads on compression-ignition truck engines…
