My newest project is a dummy Athearn Soo Line SD40-2 #6623 (older “pin style” shell) that I plan to motorize and detail. With the detailing i plan to do I will need to do a fair amount of painting, so I need to find s good match for the Athearn version Soo Line Candy Apple Red. I prefer to use acrylic paint, but I could use a solvent based paint if need be. So how about it - What are the Soo Line modelers out there using? I also have a Walther’s GP9M waiting in the wings, so if anyone has matched thw Walther’s Candy Apple Red I’d be interested in that info too.
