Hi! I’m new to the forum…[:D]
I’m looking for S-scale dealers/makers in the Western North Carolina/ Upstate South Carolina area.
I’ve been at a loss to locate anyone, could someone provide me some direction?
Thanks!

American Model has a dealer locator on their web site:
http://www.americanmodels.com/dealers.phtml
S Helper Service/Showcase Line:
Check the ads in Classic Toy Trains. There’s a few. In the back is a state by state directory of dealers. Also http://www.americanmodels.com and http://www.showcaseline.com and http://www.americanflyertrains.com
National Association of S Gaugers (NASG) site http://www.nasg.org/ has a “S Friendly Hobby Shops” button that takes you to an interactive map where you can click on North Carolina for a listing in that state (takes longer to say it than do it).
I strongly advise you to call ahead. My experience using this list and the ones mentioned above, is that these shops may have stopped carrying S, carry only a very limited amount (like 8 or 10 items, or have gone out of business.
Also, in many cases in S, items are only available from the manufacturer/importer. See this site http://www.trainweb.org/crocon/sscale.html for what’s available and links.
Good luck
Paul
I’ve seen some impressive displays of S gauge equipment at larger shows, this may be one of the best ways to find equipment.
