Looking for some Athearn parts, can you help?

I recently purchased two older Athearn 50’ mechanical reefers on eBay. The bodies are great and I got them for the long out of production paint. But they have missing, miss matched, or damaged parts, namely the underframe, floor, trucks, and fuel tanks.

So I’m looking for the following Athearn parts:

Athearn #13106 50’ Underframe
(comes as a two pack…I need one set or two separate underframes)

Athearn #13107 Floor 50’ Boxcar
(comes as a two pack…I need one set or two separate floors)

Athearn #13108 Mechanical Reefer Tanks
(comes as a six pack…I need one set or four separate tanks)

Athearn #90399 Hyatt 33" Roller Bearing Trucks
(comes as a two pack…I need two sets or four separate trucks)

While most of these parts can be found through various vendors or online, the fuel tanks are out of stock everywhere. Even the online stores that say they have them in stock as I’ve contacted those.

Contacting the Athearn parts department is an option, but I’d like to see if anyone has spare parts first.

So if you have these parts in your spare parts box, I’d like to purchase them. I really prefer to order all p

It may be easier ,and possibly cheaper, to get 2 more blue box kits with the correct parts.

Not a bad idea. Although a little hard to find blue box kits anymore.

check with this guy. he has alot of Athearn parts.

Hello I have most of thosse parts if you want them.

Let me make sure they will fit.

2 days ago I found some cheap cars to use as parts cars and they have all the parts I needed.

Thanks though for the help.

All of the parts you need are still available from Athearn’s parts department. Go to their web site, click on HO scale, and then parts.

Parts that can fit or be made to are produced by companies like:

Tichy trains, Branchline Trains, Kadee, Accurail, etc.

They are not all that expensive and generally look great. There are a lot more companies out there, Greenway also comes to mind. Let your fingers do the walking…
