Items on the mountain are “N” scale everything else is “HO”. I hope to have a pine forest on the mountain where the logging road exits to the back drop. Where the logging truck sits I have a country saw mill to install. I thought about a spur track but I don’t thick there is enough room to do it right. Yes the whole lay out needs trees but I am not happy with my samples yet. I’m trying my Depot in the left rear corner with store fronts and streets on the left end. I prefer a country setting as apposed to a town, but I have almost a 4’ X 4’ section to fill. The left front corner could be reconfigured to allow access to the lake. I’m looking for ideas to fill the empty space. In case the stone bridge doesn’t look too good, the bridges are not finished only placed temporally. I still don’t have the pictures right.
Hey guys
I’m going to quit for the night.
Every time I geta post ready with pictures eather Explorer crashs or locks up. The pictures have an average of 1.5 megabites and that could be the problem. I’ll work on it tomorrow.
I use Photo Bucket and never had a problem with posting pictures.
On the Layout Lee, what kind of ideas are you looking for? Only thing I noticed is the lack of trees and the Atlas Lumber Store. I have the same one, it looks like N scale to me. Are lumber stores are way bigger than the engines that drop off lumber.
Hi there Yankee Flyer, Looks like you have made a good start with your layout. What is the “reach distance” to the rear tracks? Never exceed 28 inches. On my 24’x 24’around the room layout I use SceniKing photo panorama sections to add “forced perspective” to the background. I assume that the next step is to add shrubs, grass, and trees to your layout. Is there any possibility of expansion in the future? I built my rather large layout in four phases over a 5 year time span. I just completed fabricating some 500 trees, using weed branch armatures for the close up trees and filling in the mountain sides with stained double ended olive skewer trunks and furnace filter circles, that are painted and then sprayed with adhesive. I then, sprinkle on WS ground foam of various colors. At the NMRA convention, I saw the use of short 1/4"-3/8". snipped sections of rope adhered to branched weed armatures, and then sprinkled with ground foam. Bob Hahn
