Looking for someone to restore a Lionel 2671W Pennsy tender

I bought a beautiful postwar 681 with the 2671W tender. The only problem is the tender is not as nice as the engine. I am trying to remember the gentleman that works only with Lionel tenders. I bought one that may need repainted and definitely re-lettered. Does anyone know the person or the name of a great restoration service available for a postwar tender? Thanks in advance…

PWLionelEric,

I believe the person who you are talking about is Lenny Schafer. Look for his ads in the back of CTT.

Jim.

Eric,
You can get replacement shells for these for around $25. Some are repros, some are NOS. Check with the parts dealers and ebay.

Pete

Thanks for the reply guys. Lenny doesn’t paint and recommends a repro after I reached him by e-mail. I would really like to have one painted though. Just wish I knew who was out there. Thanks

Give this place a try, I have seen his work. it’s great
