My wife is from NY and I’ve been trying to find the Lionel 6-9475 I Love New York Boxcar. Looked everywhere but haven’t located it online. Anyone know where I can get one?

Hi Jim!!! Merry Christmas!!! Yeah…I got the train in a 42" circle under the tree. Still rebuilding the 671/681/682. Need all kinds of little widgets and thingamajigs for them. Was hoping to get at least one ready for under-the-tree use but no luck. So I’m using an MTH NYC GP-9 to pull a string of 3 cars around. [:D]

Great News!! I won the boxcar that Doug gave me the heads-up on. PLUS…I got the I Love NY boxcar shell that was on E-bay. The one on E-Bay was just a shell, but I got it for $12.95 plus shipping. Now I just need a beater undercarriage for it to mount it on. Unfortunately, it has no doors on the boxcar. And I haven’t been able to find any pictures of it to figure out what color to paint any replacement doors. Anyone have a pic of the Lionel 6-9475 I Love New York Boxcar? It seems this boxcar is VERY rare and in big demand because it still has the twin towers on it. Makes me kinda sad to look at it.
1688torpedo: I checked with Gryzboski first thing since he was able to find me a tender for my 671 and a Collectors Club S2 turbine boxcar. No luck.

Hello. I am a new member on this forum ( been lurking a long time). It sounds like you have found your match, but if you are looking for another Lionel 9475 let me know. I am in the middle of selling my late father’s collection, and I have that box car in the box. I have a fairly large quantity of lionel cars and engines from that period.
My personal preference is pre war Lionel, Ives, AF, Bing, etc.
