Looks like where up again.

Boy am I glad! Can’t say I was bored Saturday, had a big honey do list. Now she is going to wonder why I am not doing yard work Sunday? [:D]

HI Ken,

agree totally.[:)]

Frank

HI Ken.

so just out of curiosity what did we all do when the forum was down?

Frank

Hi!

Whew, glad the Forum is back in service.

I spent much of Saturday cleaning out the garage, and I’m sure my efforts will last a good two or three weeks. Spent last evening wiring crossovers & relays on the HO layout. I’m on my last one now, and while the wiring is relatively easy, the contortions to get to it - for a 65 yo, 220 lb old guy - are not.

ENJOY,

I bet there were quite a few forumites going into some kind of withdrawal while this site was down. I wonder how the antidepressant sales were?

Silly old me thinking the site was going to be down to Monday. Sent wife to pick up 80 pounds of potting soil? Guess I will still be out side today.

Well enjoy the site while I can.

Ken

Exactly what I planned to do. I got out to Lowes and brought home a 4x8 sheet of Masonite, then cut the piece I needed to span the space over the subway station. I cut the indentations in the adjacent foam and fitted the new piece in, so I now have a continuous flat space to begin laying track.

I cut a second section of Masonite and attached it to the side of the layout - my first fascia!

OK, now back to wiring…

I spent all day yesterday building Union Station.

And watched the Masters. Go Phil Mickelson!!! He lit it up yesterday!

Well, I did some needed yard (the green kind) work and visited a couple of other forums out of curiosity but they don’t they just don’t have it.

Where? Ware? Wear? We’re?

Went down to the Boothbay Railway Village for a talk on the restoration of a circa 1895 vintage, Baldwin 2 foot gage 0-4-0T saddle tank loco that the museum owns. It and 2 others were built for the SD Warren paper mill in Westbrook, ME. The museum owns #1 and #2 as well as parts of #3 which was in a wreck. At its height, the paper mill had about 30 miles of industrial track making interchange with MEC. This is some information on the little critter

They have started to restore it to running condition.[^] [tup] [tup] [tup] The museum shop has an ASME certification, so they can do most of the work in house including building a new boiler. [8D] The talk included a tour of the shop so we saw the work in progress on #2 as well as one of their Henschel locos that was in for routine maintenance. At the end of the shop tour, some of the group wanted to see the HO scale layout, so I took them up to the building and showed them around. That pretty well filled my afternoon! I did check the site a couple of times on Friday and Saturday, and got the work in progress screen
