This past week (Jan 2-6,2006), I noticed that LORAM equipment has been parked on a siding at the Congress Park (Metra) Stop on BNSF’s Chicago-Aurora raceway. I’m not sure what kind of machinery that this consist performs. Does anyone know what is being done? Is BNSF or Metra having rails ground, ballast cleaned, replaced, etc.?
