Wow, just another reason to gamble before getting to Vegas, but if they are going to gamble I am glad it is on a train. All kidding aside it sounds like this is going to happen and any positve attention rail gets is good attention.
Maybe if there enough of these old PS passenger cars around they could add a couple at the end for retirement/nursing home
transportation between LA and Henderson and Vegas. The
cars would be easy to identify for Illinois and Wisconsin old
folks.
Who made the Atlantic City bilelevels that ran for a few years as the ACE trains?
I hope Uncle Pete sees it in the same light of optimism.

Hope these are the x CNW cars as my Dad (RIP) was a pipefitter for Pullman-Standard and helped build them.
A properly financed, operated and maintained train with a large consist and frequent departures targeted to middle income passengers will provide a very large return on investment in short order.

Trains to gambling markets to caSINos have been a bust. Look at Atlantic City. Also, since we have little or no info on where these rail cars come from, the caSINos industry is up to its usual shell game tactics. No wonder why Las Vegas, according to FBI statistics has the highest felonious crime rate in the nation of any major city in the nation. Atlantic City also rates high for crime, and the town is still slum and only got worse after gambling was legalized. What a big mistake Amtrak made in the late 1980’s to choose Atlantic City for its first of “emerging Corridors”. Since then, at least a half-dozen ther Amtrak corridors have proven sucessful, withour being dependent on business from caSINos. If private companies want to serve Las Vegas, fine, but I’m not going to hold my breath for it.
