Since I’m not familiar with LA, is this an at grade, street level project or below grade?
Another Trains article of a construction project without a map.
Railway Age has a small map of this project: http://www.railwayage.com/index.php/passenger/light-rail/ground-broken-for-la-regional-connector.html?channel=61
To answer your question, Daniel, This will be totally underground.
So the Azusa to Long Beach will pass Union Station; what about the the East Los Angeles to Santa Monica line?
How will that through route pass Union Station stop without reversing direction at that location?
I remember when the Blue Line opened, they said extending it to Union Station was too expensive and it won’t happen. I consider this very good news as it will make more of downtown Los Angeles accessible to the two subway lines and the light rails that operate in downtown L.A.
For a map of this project just go the internet and type in "Regional Connector Light Rail ". It will take right to the relevant article and click on one of the maps.
LAX Metro connection???
