Lost Ability of Lionel Legacy Control System to " talk to " Lionel Vision Line Challenger Steam Engine

I am a newbie

Bought the Lionel Legacy Control System V1.3 along with Lionel Vision Line 4-6-6-4 Challenger Steam Locomotive . For some reason have lost the ability for the control system to talk to the engine.

Have gone through the factory reset as outlined in the manual and have tried to reprogram the remote to recognize the engine but nothing seems to work

Can someone give me a step by step procedure to get these two working together again ??.

We don’t mean to sound like we’re putting you off, but it would be best to ask this quesiton on the Classic Toy Trains forums, which are more dedicated to the O scale crowd than this forum. Most people here are HO or N scalers.
