Lost my sound on my Proto 1

i lost my chuffing sound on my mth 30-1115-1 K4 pacific. the bell and whistle work fine, when i add power to the engine you can hear the engine start up. when it begins to move ther is no chuffing sound. if i give it full throttle i get a speratic sound but not what its supposed to be.

what controls the chuffing to the wheel revolution. is there a pickup that may need cleaning or adjusting?

Stephen,

Not really sure, but I know that if the battery is low, Proto 1 engines will act very strange. If you have an older battery, it may not hold the charge like a new one. I’d start with that.
