Lots and Lots of Trains

Anyone see/buy it?

Chip, did you forget a link or something?

Jarrell

No it’s an ad I saw on TV–a two DVD set for $20 or something.

I know what your talking about. I saw it on TV the other day. It looked pretty cool for $20. Might be geared toward the younger crowd. I might get it if I see the ad again.

I picked up a metal DVD case with five DVDs in it about three months ago. It was at Future Shop and has footage of many of the last big steamers (tons on the N&W articulateds, Cass, D&RGW, Toltec & Cumbres, CP & CN, UP, the whole shebang…no Niagaras though. I paid $20 and darned near fell off my chair when I realized that these DVDs would normally ratail for about $15-20 each! It’s called “Railway Journeys, the vanishing age of steam.” Wow.

Chip,

I bought Lots and Lots of Trains as a gift for my grandson. I haven’t watched it yet though.

If you order on line, it comes with a 3rd disk, a CD with railroad songs on it.

Here’s a link if you are interested: http://www.marshallpublishinginc.com/

I had it a long time ago. It was all right all it is are songs and trains thats it! Its not a documentary or any thing.

chip, check out your local library. Ours here in alabama lets you check out videos and dvds. They had one called lots and lots of trains. Not sure if it is the same one you are refering to. This one just played music in the background and had over 1000 shots of various trains running. No organization at all to it. Just trains coming out of tunnels, over bridges etc. It was ok, but I wouldnt buy a copy of it. Check you local library and see if they have it.

Sam’s Club sometimes has this one.

I saw it, Space. IMHO it makes trains look “childish”.

I haven’t seen that particular one, but I have found some very good train DVD’s at the Family Dollar for only $5.00. I also got a DVD with an old Buster Keaton silent movie, “The General”, about the great locomotive chase of the Civil War. Sometimes it pays to be a cheapskate[swg]

I’ve got it. Pretty cool flicks for the money…

Well, I looked at it on the web site (which is actually linked from Greenfrog). http://www.marshallpublishinginc.com/lots-and-lots-of-trains-2-dvd-set–bonus-audio-c.html

I can’t tell much from that, but I would think you would do better with the Railway Journeys - The Vanshing Age of Steam a five DVD set at Walmart.
