Lotsa Power

Oh, and I enjoyed the story Michael. I can only imagine the sinking feeling as they realized the prediciment they were in. Now I got to ask why they didn’t tie down some cars while the air was being charged?

Wow, none of that makes any sense to me. No train brake (automatic)…O.K. plug it! No dice…O.K. Pop the ETD… You made a full independant appilcation and the conductor tied the handbrake on the second unit (which only applies the brakes on one truck)…Why? Were the units not M.U.ed? When they were M.U.ed a locomotive airbrake test should have been made. For all of these scenarios to all happen at once would be a long shot. Were both of the locos set up in lead by accident? Sounds really odd. Dynos full…um you mean dyno is in 8…dead engine=no dyno! You mention 105 cars. Are they loads or empties. What was the T.O.B.? Maybe somebody turned the anglecok between the train and engines and on the rear car…yeah, that’s the ticket.

I have a story too:
One time when I was runnin’ I had hold of a 155 car coal drag and didn’t let the clutch out slow enough and stalled the engine. I kept turning the key and couldn’t get it to start. My conductor

Ok boys stop the flaming please. I apologize for misleading people. In my situation with the sim that was all I could do. I know about all that stuff trust me but it doesnt have all that stuff. Soory.

By the way I work there so I wasnt just being a tourist.

was this the simulator that used to be at Stevens Point , built by Doug Evica ? If it is this is the sim we used on the WC, I too have run the D&H sim as part of training. Did they also provide you with the WC from MP 107 to 86 ?
The scenario sounded awfully familier !!! LOL !!! A ghost from the past !
Randy

sorry Coborn. Didn’t consider a sim…oops! Still gave me the oppertunity to come up with a whopper of a story.

Yes it is! The WC part you are refering to is the Neenah Sub. Im soooo sorry if I mislead anyone!!![]

The UP allows 10 units on head end… only 34 axles of power and 24 axles of Dyamo…

Virlon

Oh, I see. I was told wrong info about that rule.

24 powered axles on csx

Does steam count?

And why have a powered axle rule at all?

Okay, flame wars aside, my guess is they needed to move locomotives, so they tagged em on to a freight train that as headed for the same yard they were. Now, this is my ever humble, non railroader, just 14 year old railfan kid with a camera and minimal knowledge of railroading guess, so please DO NOT FLAME ME!!![B)][:P] This seems to be a flame war zone, better watch what I say…[#dots]
