Loudest BNSF GEVO Ever From Bridge

Here’s a video by TommyBNSF of a BNSF ES44 Intermodal in Ransom ILLINOISE. I think it’s extremely loud. The louder the better. Turn up the volume on this because he’s fast and furious. The collest video yet I think for power sound.

Nothing special!

I liked the vid. BTW what state is West Ransom in? When I Googled I got references to North Carolina and Michigan, and they aren’t on BNSF that I know of.

Also, is West Mazon nearby?

Just curious, al

They are in IL really close to were I live. The BSNF has some track control points named weird. They have one named Streaot Connetion that is the old NYC track in South Streator that they interchange whole trains with the NS/CR/PC/NYC. In fact it was there that when Conrail was around that Santa Fe got their GE locos thru that was sweet I saw the B-40-8W come thru before they were even in service. There is Streator and South Streator so that gives you an Idea. From looking at the Videos he was saying which track the train was on. Now that video was shot on the Route 170 Overpass a better place to do such would have been Ancona a small town athat is right on the mainline and also has a pull off area that is accessaible for railfans and you do not get run off from there.

This is not my video. I just find ones by somebody else that I think are very cool. Also I don’t have a YouTube Account but someday I will.

Trains are louder from overhead.

I’m guessing trains are loudest from above because the roadbed reflects sound upward and the sides deflect sound, so sound is forced to go out the top of the train and we hear the results. True?

I always thought it was because the exhaust blasts into you when looking down, but your theory could be right too.

Maybe that’s why air horns are apparently so expensive.
