The obit did NOT mention Lima BUT this I find very enlightening, from the Memory Book!!–" April 28, 2013
I had the great pleasure of interviewing Lou about his days at the Lima Locomotive Works and his friendship with staff photographer Don Jardine, the father of Al Jardine, a founding member of the Beach Boys. Lou often babysat Al and his older brother Neal when they were youngsters. The love and affection he felt for them shined through after all these years. Lou was a warm and gracious man. He served his family, his community, and his country with honor and integrity. And by the accounts of others who have shared their remembrances of him, there can be no doubt that, after a life so well lived, he was welcomed home into God’s loving embrace.
