louisiana modellers

the title says it all. where are my fellow louisiana model train enthusiasts? :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry. I’m in Southern Middle Tn. but I checked out your web site. Cool CD cover![tup] Are things getting back to normal down there yet?

Jeffrey- Wimberly is the only one i know… I believe he’s in the Leesburg area…I’m in Southeast Texas near Houston…your next door neighbor you might say…chuck

You are only the 2nd person I know from New Orleans that posts on this forum.

Sorry to say that many have moved since Katrina, myself included.

I lived on the Westbank (The BestBank) in Algiers for most of my life and pulled out early last year (Jan 06’). Now we live in central North Carolina and love it here.

I know that Hub Hobby moved from Uptown New Orleans to Metairie and the Crescent City Train club still meets in Metairie too.

Did they have a train show in Mandeville or Kenner last year?

The last train show we went to was GATS in Mandeville on August 20, 2005, one week before Katrina hit.

I do not know about Louisiana modelers since my attendance at a New Orleans LSR-NMRA regional convention in 1979. However, since Louisiana is right next door to the East Texas scenes I have been modeling, I have kept a file of -not modelers in Louisiana-- but modelers who model Louisiana scenes…

Well, here’s one. I live outside Leesville, Louisiana. I run KCS and MKT power on my layout along with power for my fictional line, the MGRy (Midland Gulf Railway). I loosely model the KCS southern division between Alexandria, La and Lake Charles, La.
