Got to love this photo. It looks like a ordinary photo from first glances, through the blurr of the shot, but look close at it, It’s a Delaware and Hudson 4-6-6-4, probably seen it’s days, With a brand new Pennsylvania Alco S switcher. Just though I’d post that since it’s such a cool thing.

Yes, good shot…period engine and rail cars…Not too much fresh ballast on that road bed…but qiite a bit of sand.
Both of those are really good photos. They just got ‘printed out’.[:D]
[:)]Love the shot of the Pennsy ALCo switcher, but what’s that big black thing in front of it?[;)]
My favorite engine: STEAM!!! That’s what the big black thing in front is.
Dear Sirs,
What lovely Photos!! Presume its the Same Train in both shots.
Alco Switcher on its FIRST Journey.
Would not be long before D&H Alco S Series Switchers would be handling the Capped-Stack Articulateds on their LAST Journies.
Love the Details in the Photos too. Probably all now gone.
Three Dome Tank right behind the S. The Outside-Braced Box.
What would a Today Shot at this location show.
Great photos. Only wi***hat was the everyday puller on trains these days. I don’t like steam engines that much, but photos like these make me want to change my mind.
GREAT…100 POSTS!!![:D]

Great idea. I think I’ll try to get in contact with the person who took it, maybe he lives around there and would be kind enough to take one there today at that same spot.
Cool pictures. Well before my time…what I missed.
