Low Nose Headlights (functional)

I’m looking to start my next phase of detailing my Walthers GP9m’s and that means moving the headlights from the cab to the low short hood. I have no idea where to begin. I would ideally like to accomplish it without having to repaint, as I don’t know that I trust Walther’s colors.

Any tips/tutorials? I’ve seen some white metal castings, but I didn’t see that they came with lenses.

Thanks!

The casting I believe are from Detail Associates, and a company called MV products has lenses that will fit (most of the time).

Are you wanting to remove the original headlights that, I assume, are at the top of the cab? Any of the conversions I’ve seen where nose lights are installed require a notch of some sort to accept the casting. Cab headlight removal and nose modification both seem to require some re-painting.

Thanks guys.

Yes, I’ll be blocking off the cab headlights. I figured I could sand them flat and fill it, then paint it. As for the nose, I know I’d have to notch it, bu I was hoping for someone with experience to chime in and offer some tips. I don’t mind touching up the paint, but I really want to avoid having to do a major repaint.

Thanks!

Sweet! All of those combined look like what I’m looking for, parts-wise. Now for some technique.
