Im having trouble with the wiring. Can i use 12/2 low voltage outdoor landscape wire for power to my track?
There is not one reason that you couldn’t. I used 14\2 and it’s intended purpose is to be buried anyway. To attach to rail I cut wire and soldered into ring terminals and attached to rail clamps. You can’t go wrong.

Absolutly. I went so far as to use the power taps for lights to put electrons on the rails. 6 years and no problems yet. I use 7 conductor sprinkler control valve wiring to power turnouts and “controlled sidings.”
