Loyal friends turn out to support WK&S
That’s the way it always oughta be, teamwork!
This is a great little line, and we will certainly visit them again this summer. It is not spectacular, they do not have the most amazing equipment; but the volunteers are terrific and the place is so down-to-earth comfortable, it’s worth finding and riding. I assume that they still don’t accept produce or IOUs for a ride (yes, printed on the ticket).
They have really had some tough luck the past few years! I hope the enthusiast community will support them.
Has the railroad filed a complaint with the state of Pennsylvania? If so, there should be both jail time and a rather hefty monetary penalty as well. In addition, restitution with interest is due the railroad.
Why don’t they make him pay it back and maybe even fine him a little extra for his actions.
I rode the WK&S in 2007 and chased it in 2010. Fun experiences. Sorry about it being embezzled.
Nice to hear that folks are coming out to support this little but very nice tourist operation. My son and I rode the W&KS many years ago and it was great.
Luke, I’m sure he will have to give the money back, to the extent that he still has the money, or assets that can be seized, sold and turned into cash. However, the railroad won’t likely get any of it until the courts officially order the money/assets be seized. Our justice system moves veeeeerrrrrry sloooooooly. I’ll be amazed if the railroad sees a penny of their money within two years.
