I received my order from Loys Toys today, a drop in decoder for my B-man 4-8-2. The decoder was well packed and protected, but heres a nice suprise: With my decoder was a Laminated sheet of paper explaining the basics of decoder installation. [8D]
I purchased my Super Empire Builder from Loys. As in your case, everything was well packed, arrived in good condition when they said it would, and had lots of extras with it in the help catagory. I phoned in the order and the Tech person was very helpful and spent a lot of time walking me through what items I would need to get started. Excellent! I would not hesitate to order from them again.
So often we hear about the problem dealer or manufacture. The good guys in the business that provide us with the things we want at good prices and with excellent service are not mentioned often enough. There does seem to be a trend lately on the forum to single out companies that are doing an above average job in terms of service and product and I think that is commendable. Most of us do business with a small group of companies that have done a good job for us personally. and we don’t hear of other small companies that are also doing an outstanding job for their customers.
I have been a customer of Loy’s Toy’s for some time now and I would rate the company in the excellent category. Loy Spurlock’s focus is DCC. He is extremely knowledgeable about the technical side of the product line but also how that piece of hardware can best be used by us. Loy has a large layout and the products he sells is used and evaluated on his layout. it. I don’t think you can get a better recommendation then that.
I am not very very good at all this digital stuff and on occasion when my layout died and my trusty ohm meter told me nothing an e-mail to loy’s got a quick response and a quick fix. You can’t hardly beat that.
