Some time ago when I was looking from some oil to lube my locos at my local LHS , should it become necessary I showed him this. He said yes that’ll work fine. I showed him the “do not use on plastic” message but he said not to worry. So my question. Is it or isn’t it safe for use on modern Locomotives?
I havn’t seen that bottle of LaBelle in more years than I care to admit! If it says don’t use on plastic, DON’T!! Get a new LaBelle oiler at another LHS that knows the difference!
Don’t use that 101 on plastics, you will be sorry!
That LHS clerk doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I tried some of that stuff on an Athearn BB locomotive back in the 80’s and it destroyed the gears.
