I’ve notice an increase in train oil lubricants. Brands like Labelle, Atlas,Faller,Peco,Woodland Scenics-Hob-E-Lube. I have always used Labelle oils for my HO and N scale diesels and locomotive gearing, but has anybody used any other brands with better results? What’s your choice?
I only have experience with Hob-E-Lube, and it was to do the initial valve gear and side rod lubing on my new BLI Hudson (manual says to lube it very soon after purchase because the parts are not lubed at the factory). So far, so good.
I only use Labelle. I still have the original bottles too. There has been no need to buy any other brands. I say Labelle is the best, but I haven’t had experience with other model specific lubes.
In the early days, I used cheap baby oil for lube on everything. Not so good.
