Lubricating

Does anyone have experience with Nano Oil for gear lubricating compared to

LaBelle Oil. Is there any improvement on gear noise, current draw (less amp)?

No personal experience. However, I do have friends who know LaBelle lubes and have raved about the Nano-Oil after seeing it demonstrated at the recent Seattle National Narrow Gauge Convention. According to them, yes, the claims of lower current draw are valid. I don’t recall what was said about noise reduction, but seems plausible.

Nano-Oil is available in several weights, so for best results match it to the intended application. It’s also important to start with clean gears, etc, so you need to clean things up with the heavier weights Nano-Oils. IIRC, I think the lightest one will actually cut through the old oil, so not quite as critical to clean up when using it.
