I originally found it by googling “nail art tape”, but don’t recall the site. You may have better luck at a beauty parlour or hairdresser.

Thanks. I’ll try the beauty parlor route. As I mentioned previously I did try the Google/Ebay method. With one exception, it appeared to me that all one could buy was a 8 to 30 roll selection with mostly non-usable colors. The one place that did have single rolls listed showed out of stock on anything black.

One thing I’ve read in a number of places is that the ends of banded lumber stacks by, say, the 1960s and later should be pretty even, like in this promotional image. Mechanical handling and all.
The Chooch castings in the OP look close, but could use some sanding to be nice and even.

Generally yes, but not a hard and fast rule. I’ve definitely seen photo’s from the 70’s and 80’s eith uneven lumber ends.
