Here’s a shot near my house that I nabbed a week and a half ago. When I saw the crescent moon, I knew I had to shoot it and the signal on the BNSF Golden Branch at Tennyson St is sort of my default subject when I can’t find anything else to shoot:
The constable was on duty late one evening last month when he spotted a “shining light” glowing over Clent Hills, a range of scenic peaks which rise up more than 1,000ft in Worcestershire.
He radioed his sergeant, telling him he was “off up the hills” to investigate the “suspicious bright light” from ‘over the other side of the hills’.
I like the amount of detail seen on the back of the signal head, as well as the reflections visible on the bracket holding the signal head to the mast. Also impressive is the faint Earthglow.
Expensive equipment does not make a good photographer; however, in the hands of a good photographer, expensive equipment can yield very impressive results.
