Nice work getting that laid out and snowy, stebbycentral. [8D] I think you nailed it.
Here is mine, a greeting card for the occasion.

Finally adding ground cover, trees, and ballast to the north end. As the railroad is outside, I use Titebond III in solution as it dries water proof (and my part of Phoenix had rain and hail Wednesday and evrrything stayed in place). More to be added, but I usually give it a day before I install additional trees, groundcover, etc.
Couldn’t figure out which one I liked the best, so you get all three. Merry Christmas!
Nice photos everyone
Here’s a shot of some C&O Geeps at the station at Prince WVA
here’s a video of them running
Merry Christmas everyone. No time to make a snowy diorama, so I did it digitally. The subject is CNR 4100, a Tenshodo brass 2-10-2 Sana Fe class. Cheers, and pass the cranberries.
While I’m at it, I might as well post another Christmasy / wintery image, also extensively photoshopped (obviously). This one includes a pair of Athearn CN GP38s. Merry Christmas!
My main christmas present, that ended up turning into a project.
When I was painting the end rails and step edges white, I aciddentaly got some paint on the blue. I tried a bit of rubbing alcohol to get it off. It worked, but the whole unit faded a lot. I managed to get it mostly back to normal by scrubbing with an old toothbrush and cold water.
Then my bro knocked it over when I went upstairs for a snack. I had to re-install (it was backwars anyways, the 2 horns are supposed to face the long hood, since the long hood is the fron on this one) the horn and add Cal-scale lift rings since a majority of them broke off. The pics are after all of that. Not too bad IMO, just have to be care with BSB things from walthers P2K to avoid spontanious insta-fade.
I made some more progress on my passenger cars
BM 84 The Mountaineer, is a Rivirossi diner that I found at a train show, and stripped and re-painted. It has an interior but still needs the kitchen staff and a lighting kit.
I added a lighting kit to lightweight P-S coach MEC 244. It’s a Miniatronics set that simulates fluroescent lights.
Just to compare, here is the 244 next to a heavyweight with “incandescent lights” (i.e. yeloglo LEDs)
The heavyweight looks like it needs a resistor installed to dim the lights a bit. The lightweight has a blue interior paint scheme which may enhance the blue-ness of the light kit. I will know better when the next one is done; it will have different interior colors per MEC and B&M practice.
Great Photo Gramps,
nice depth of field.
Merry Christmas
Here’s what I got:
And a broken centerbeam, which I’ll return to Walthers next week…
I also got some paints, but Walthers forgot to ship the decal paper (DOH!). The observation is too long for my curves (I’ll be starting on a new layout soon), and I don’t want to take the centerbeam out of the box, just to make sure Walthers will take it back (but I’m SOOOO tempted to run it, just once!), so currently only the tanker is operational.
Merry Christmas!
For XMAS I got a brand new athearn RTR conrail SW1500 (the photo doesn’t show all the details like MU hoses), and a Atlas master series Conrail patched out Penn Central box car.
Great pics everyone!
Nothin from me right now except this update video. There’s also a Christmas train running vid. I’ll get pics tomorrow; I added a TON of more ground cover after the video was shot.
I had some old Woodland kits and made those important houses.
And anohter video, Morning shift at Westport Terminal RR - part VI.

Santa brought a camera! Woo Hoo! Heres a first ever look at the Coal Belt Railroad
Don
An old yellow box GP38, that I added detail to and added a bell cut into the side of the nose. Painted and decaled for the DT&I.
I am going to replace the cast badly formed fuel tank with extra’s that I have from the current Atlas GP38’s.
