Started work on the hill side the other day and put in a service road. What I am now planning is to start installing the turnout switches, installing the signal stands and lights then ballasting.

Nice looking yard and TT. How wide is your laypout at that point?
5 1/2’ wide x 8’ L. I can swing a Big Boy on the TT but don’t plan on operating one As the M.E.S.S. was designed on operating Challengers, Allegheny’s and other x-6-6-x articulateds.
Very Impressive! This is going to be a fun layout to operate. I can only imagine how sharp it’s going to look with the scenery in place.
nice roundhouse!!! cool double slip swicth to!! Tim
Is that the walthers Roundhouse and the big turntable? How did it go in?
That looks really nice.
Fergie, that looks like something I’d usually find M.E.S.S ier! [:D]
Me likes though!
Too bad I’m not running more steam then I’d have a need for a turntable.
Gordon
looking good
Round House is a Heljan with the two of possible three stall expansion set. The Turntable is a scratchbuilt. As for the mounting of it.
under the table leveling
This is Buddy, Rain or shine he never complains! I even gave him a light to read at night with (3mm LED hardwired into the DCC tracks)

Now I’m envious.[:(]
Great looking work. How long is your yard, great picture, sure wish I could master posting pics. Your road name as allways intrigued me to change mine to somthing else…John

looks good to me ferg
Fergie, as always this is also great!!!
Nice! Very nice! [:D]
Very interesting mounting and leveling system. I’ll have to keep it
in mind, should I ever decide to install a turntable.
Your layout looks like it will be a lot of fun to operate ! [:)]
Nice work Fergie. I like the way the embankments came out as well. What method did you use ? J.R.
looks awesome fergie
Excellant. Love the Roundhouse. I have never seen a signal tower in that location, seems strange to me. By the way that is a double crossover not a slip switch. Keep up the great work you are inspiring me. Definitely not a MESS!
