m420's

this has probably been brought up so many times ill be surprised if i even get a response, but oh well.
is there a model of an MLW m420? (if there is, its aperently more rare than a green cat) if not, is there a way to kitbash one from a plastic model? i might go with brass, but only if the price is right. (as in very low)
Thanks

I believe that Kaslo Shops is working on a shell in HO scale. Type Kaslo Shops into your search engine and their website should appear.

Sure, Overland imported one about 25-30 years ago. Not up to today’s brass standards by any means (or plastic for that matter), it’s loud, slow, only has 4-wheel pick up, etc.

However, it’s a real nice model if it ain’t movin’. I have a CN version as I worked on a pair of these puppies in 12" to the foot. I think the model captured the look and feel of these engines quite well (except for the air filters). I added DCC and I added all wheel pick up (which wasn’t easy, let me tell you). It’s a runner now (had to lube the thing), but it still sounds like a coffee grinder. I paid about $220 for it a LHS but not in Original Box (which is cheap for Overland brass).

They also made the P&W version (had RS-3 trucks from the trade in).
