Hi Bill,

I use Empire Express. It is fairly easy to learn and use. Not terribly sophisticated, but gets the job done. Can be downloaded form Here: http://www.haddonsoftware.com/emexinfo.html

You can try out anon-printable or savable test copy that will start working fully after hyou pay for it. Fairly inexpensive as well.

You can try the free XtrkCad. It is a little difficult to learn, but includes a tutorial and there is a lot of support for it as well.

You can get it here. More info is on the XTrackCad Wiki, which also has a download link.

The software is actively maintained and supported.

I use Rail Modeler as well. You can download for free and see it you like it. $39 if you care to but it. Honestly for me I have better results with Kato track and a big table.[:^)]
