Madison Pacific #2 Loco & Tender----Lionel?

Hi,

I have just obtained a Madison Pacific #2 Loco and Tender and I can not find a manufactures name on the set anywhere, but it does have what appears to be a Lionel Engine in it because it has the Lionel Mfg. Plaque riveted to the bottom of the loco on the pick up/collector assembly.

The engine and tender are made of metal and are of a very old style loco with the large funnel type of smoke stack.

I cannot find this loco or tender in my Lionel pre war guide. I will attach pictures when available.

If anyone has any info. on this set I would greatly appreciate the feedback.

Thank You,

John

I’m assuming it’s a steam locomotive since you have the tender. Is it sheet-metal or die-cast? Could be a custom paint job, a picture could help somebody at least identify the type of locomotive it is/was. By large funnel type stack I’m assuming you mean like an 1800’s steamer with the big balloon stack?
