Magazine article re:Athearn U-boats

Years ago I skimmed an article about narrowing the hood of Athearn U-boats. I think the author was modeling an L&N unit, and it may have been in RMC. Anyone know what issue?

According to the MR magazine index there was a two part article in RMC. Part 1 was December 2000, and part 2 was January 2001. The description of the article was making an L&N U30C starting with an Athearn U33C. This seems to be what you are describing in your post, but I don’t have those issues to look at to confirm the hood narrowing thing. Maybe someone else has those copies and can comment.
